What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We take your email address so we can communicate with you about our services and offerings or deal with a support inquiry. We also collect your address which is required by our payment processor to validate the user according to the govt. regulations. Your data will never be sold to a third party with the exception of if we sell the business.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.  All user data including uploads to our cloud service are hosted securely and only YOU have access to these files via your API – if you share your API with other users, the security of your uploads lies with you.

We do not store information on your credit cards and all payments are handled through payment gateways.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site we verify your credit card through a payment gateway, and we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number.

If you’ve purchased our products from Envato Marketplace – we may ask you to verify your purchase through Envato APIs. Envato APIs provide us your Envato account username, email address, profile details. We also ask access to download your purchased items so we can provide automatic updates directly on your server from Envato. You can find more about Envato policy here

How we protect your data

Our site uses industry-standard encryption and is on a premium host that manages security. We also have additional security in place by our preferred supplier Blog Vault. We use the blog Vault integrated Firewall to protect our sites against hackers and malware injection. a separate Firewall is also installed to protect both our data and yours.

Will this privacy policy change in the future?

We may need to update this Policy to keep pace with changes in our Site, Software, and Services, our business, and laws applicable to us and you. We will, however, always maintain our commitment to respect your privacy. we will notify you by revising the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you an email notification). Please note that your continued use of our Site, software, and services, after any change of policy means that you agree with the new policy and consent to be bound to it.
